improbableuser It is just amazing how the ambient tunes in this and other albums of Pioulard can be so stripped down and yet so rich. Just plain beautiful melodies and textures, like the effortless beauty we find in nature.

A Strangely Isolated Place A spectrum of degrading colors, gently shift in waves of warmth, static and blanketing drones. Favorite track: Stone In Focus.

about

On 21 June 2016 I broke my right wrist while hiking near North Bend, Washington ; the radial bone was fractured completely but thankfully there's been no evident nerve or tendon damage.

At the suggestion of friends I compiled these tracks as a pay-what-you-like release, the sum of which will go toward all attendant medical bills and lost income over the next several weeks. I would greatly appreciate your support, and hope you'll enjoy these pieces.

"The very center of its flame" was originally released as a CD-R with the limited deluxe edition of PERILS (Desire Path Recordings 2015)

"Madrigal" was originally posted to Soundcloud as an unmastered demo in December 2015

"Stone In Focus" is an interpretation of the Aphex Twin song of the same name, also posted to Soundcloud as an unmastered demo in late 2015 ; this version is mixed slightly differently. Original: www.youtube.com/watch?v=goDd02TTxBA

All pieces recorded with guitar and cassette tape at La Berceuse (Seattle, WA)

Mastered by Rafael Anton Irisarri at www.blackknollstudio.com

Cover: Polaroid SX-70 photo of X-Rays from Snoqualmie Valley Hospital
